Research shows a strong correlation between organizations and regions which receive favorable economic and political treatment from the United States government on the one hand, and effective advocacy and access to power brokers/decision makers in the executive and legislative branches of the federal government, on the other. Historically, effective advocacy before federal agencies and authorities generates substantial interest in an organization and its national agenda, frequently inducing members of Congress and the Administration to respond more favorably to an organization’s interests be it corporate or country. Organizations without strong knowledgeable advocates in Washington risk marginalization or indifference by Congress and/or the Administration with respect to issues of importance to them.
